I'm Colleen, I live in southern Maine with my 3 dogs and husband Jay.  I've loved animals for as long as I can remember.  I've been working in the animal world for 11+ years, grew up in a home where animals were always a part of the family and I've been a dog mom for 10+ years. 

In 2022 my dog Timber had a sudden splenic rupture and after an emergency surgery we found out she had a devastating form of cancer: Hemangiosarcoma.  I was at a loss.  I didn't know what our options for care were or what end of life would look like so I started googling.  I found a gap, there seemed to be so little available in terms of support.  Luckily I found a wonderful hospice vet and I leaned heavily on my own beliefs that you should celebrate everything.  We filled the last month we had with  beach trips, car rides, backyard lounges and all the treats and along the way my husband and I made a plan to ensure she didn't suffer and got to leave this earth in a dignified way.   

I hope I can bridge the gaps you encounter as you navigate the last chapter of your beloved companions.  I understand how impossible it seems and how heartbreaking it can be.
